FAA stands for The Federal Aviation Administration is a certification for aviation repair stations in the US. These are a set of rules and regulations that that aviation repair stations must follow. This is part of the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 145. The stations who have this certification can inspect, overhaul, repair and replace parts in the aircraft.FAA is the authority that every air carrier and their contractors has to follow. The repair station has to complete the necessary documentation, demonstration and inspection before they can get the FAA certification. Once that is done then the station gets the appropriate ratings.
